Quick Reference

A fine strip of paint around the hull of a yacht which divides the antifouling (see fouling) paint below the waterline from the paint on the topsides. The boottop is usually painted in a colour which contrasts with the colour of the antifouling and the topsides. In the merchant navy the term used is boottopping.
