Borda scores

Quick Reference

A system proposed by the French mathematician, Jean Charles de Borda (1733–1799), for determining the outcome of a voting contest with n candidates. Under this system a voter awards one point to the least-favoured candidate, two points to their next choice, and so on, up to n points for their most favoured candidate. The winner is the candidate with the largest total number of points.
