Americanscientist (born 1914), considered by some to be the ‘father of modern agriculture’. Winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 for his contribution to the Green Revolution because of his efforts in the 1960s to introduce crossbred seeds into agricultural production in Pakistan and India, which saved over a billion people from starvation.
