Australian-born Performance artist who lived and worked in London. Coming out of the club scene of the 1980s, he adorned his substantial body in extreme costumes and make-up which eventually achieved the status of art works, with a presentation at the leading art dealer Anthony d'Offay. In a typical appearance his shaved head was entirely painted and covered with drips of molten wax. He was also a model for Lucian Freud. He died of AIDS.
