(1844–1900) Confederate spy, born Isabelle Boyd in Martinsburg, Virginia (now West Virginia). A courier, nurse, blockade runner and smuggler, she was the courier for Gens. P.G.T. Beauregard and Stonewall Jackson, and was captured and imprisoned several times. She wrote a memoir, Belle Boyd in Camp and Prison (1865).
