Henry Percy, earl of Northumberland, who had escaped disaster in 1403 when his son Hotspur was killed at Shrewsbury, raised rebellion against Henry IV again in 1408. He marched south to Thirsk but found little support. He was defeated and killed at Bramham Moor, on 20 February 1408.
