Polish-born British impresario and ballet director. His career began in Berlin in the 1920s with organizing theatre performances. He was manager of the Russian Romantic Ballet and acted as manager for several artists, including Karsavina and La Argentina, and several companies, Pavlova's and Nijinska's, the Metropolitan Ballet and the Original Ballet Russe among them. He founded London Festival Ballet (later English National Ballet) in 1950 and remained as its general director until 1965. Author of Braunsweg's Ballet Scandals (London, 1973).
