American biostatistician. Breslow gained his BA in mathematics at Reed College, Portland in 1962. He obtained his PhD in biostatistics from Stanford U in 1967 (supervised by Efron) and then joined the faculty of U of Washington. He was the COPSS Fisher Lecturer in 1995 and President of the IBS in 2003. He was elected an Honorary Life Member of the IBS in 2006.
