(28 July 1894–21 September 1971). Commissioned in June 1915 as a member of the third class to graduate from RMC Duntroon, Bridgeford served with the AIF in Egypt and France as a machine gun officer. Awarded the MC after the disastrous battle of Fromelles in 1916, he spent time on the staff of the 8th Brigade and on the 5th Division headquarters before returning to his unit. He was gassed in 1918, and ended the war on the staff.
