(also de Burgos) (?1710–1776), historian of the Dominican Order in Ireland. He was born in Dublin and ordained in Rome, 1726, becoming Bishop of Ossory in 1759. In 1762 he issued Hibernia Dominicana, published in Kilkenny with a fictitious Cologne imprint. Burke's other works include Promptuarium Morale (1731), Propria Sanctorum Hiberniae (1751), and A Catechism, Moral and Controversial (1752).
