bus network

Quick Reference

A simple way to organize the hardware in a network. It consists of a single transmission pathway, with each device in the network attached to the pathway by a connector. Each device on the network has a unique address; if the software controlling the connector senses a packet of data it checks the address in that packet. If the address is the same as the address of its device it is passed to that device; if it is not then it is passed further along the bus for other devices to examine.
