Of Shrewsbury School (1798–1836), and bishop of Coventry and Lichfield (1836–9). His library was particularly strong in editions of the Greek and Latin classics, and included an extensive collection of books printed by Aldus. His books were dispersed in three sales at Christie's in 1840 and 1841. The MSS were bought for the British Museum library (seebritish library), and are now BL Add. MSS 11828–12117.
