A subfamily of integral membrane proteins (~525 aa) of the immunoglobulin superfamily, found in the secretory epithelial cells of the breast where they may act as receptors for the association of cytoplasmic droplets with the apical plasma membrane. They become incorporated into the membrane of milk fat globules.
