A disorder (cerebral autosomal dominant arteriopathy with subcortical infarcts and leukoencephalopathy) characterized by relapsing strokes with neuropsychiatric symptoms that affects relatively young adults of both sexes. Caused by a mutation in notch-3 which has various effects but particularly on vascular smooth muscle, hence perhaps the arteriopathy.
