Was the legendary founder of Powys in the fifth century. He is reputed to have been a swineherd, who gave hospitality to St Germanus, and was rewarded with the throne. Nennius, who recorded the story in the early ninth century, added that Cadell's descendants ruled Powys ‘even to this day’.
