Quick Reference
Calcium magnesium acetate, a chemical used to disperse ice by lowering its freezing point. Unlike salt, CMA also has the property of causing snow to remain as separate crystals that do not bond together, and are thus easily removed. Although far less damaging to the environment and structures than salt, CMA is much more expensive.
