Italian Dominican, Renaissance magus, prophet, poet, and astrologer, as well as a speculative philosopher. Campanella rejected Aristotelianism in favour of an understanding of reality in terms of heat and cold. He also thought that all things in nature are endowed with sense and that nature has a mental aspect, usable by the magician.
