o4‐aminohomoserine; 2‐amino‐4‐(aminooxy)‐butanoic acid; H2N−O−[CH2]2−CH(NH2)−COOH; a basic α‐amino acid found as the l‐enantiomer in the jack bean, Canavalia ensiformis, and in some other legumes containing l‐canavanine. It is formed from canavanine by deamidination or transamidination. It inhibits pyridoxal‐dependent enzymes.
