A genus of timber trees in which the leaves are pinnate, with stipules. The wood is resiniferous. The fruit is a drupe, and is an important food for specialized, frugivorous birds. The seed is oily, those of C. commune and C. indicum (ngali) being important local foods. There are about 75 species, occurring in the Old World tropics.
