Chinese dancer. He trained at the Beijing Dance Academy and the Royal Ballet School, joining Birmingham Royal Ballet in 1995 and promoted to principal in 2002. He performs much of the 19th-century repertory, often partnering Nao Sakuma, but has also danced in works by Tharp, Ashton, MacMillan, Bintley, and others. His created roles include Bintley's The Seasons (2001) and Concert Fantasy (2002) and Oliver Hindle's Bright Young Things (1997). He starred as the Chinese dancer Li Cunxin in the 2009 film Mao's Last Dancer. He won the gold medal at Varna, 1998.
