cardiac ankyrin repeat protein

Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

A protein (CARP, ankrd1) found in cardiac muscle that is considered to play an important role in cardiac remodelling by transcriptional regulation and direct involvement in myofilament assembly. Expression is up-regulated in wounds and CARP may be important in revascularization. There are two close homologues, ankrd2 (Arpp) and DARP, forming a conserved family of muscle ankyrin repeat proteins. See myopallidin.
