Quick Reference

Strictly speaking, toxins that act directly on the heart, but the term is actually applied to toxins (cobramine A, cobramine B, cobra cytotoxin, gamma-toxin, membrane-active polypeptide) from the venom of the cobra Naja spp., although they do not seriously affect the heart in humans.
