CD2-associated protein

Quick Reference

A multifunctional adaptor-type molecule (CAS ligand with multiple SH3 domains, 639 aa), which is localized in the cytoplasm, membrane ruffles, and leading edges of cells. It colocalizes with F-actin and p130cas and is involved in regulating the distribution of CD2, the T-cell surface marker involved in adhesion to antigen-presenting cells (the CD2–LFA3 interaction). Mutations are associated with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis 3.
