Belgian dancer, choreographer, director, and set designer. He studied at the Stedelijk Ballet Institute in Antwerp and after completing military service in 1986 went on to dance with The Royal Ballet of Flanders, Zurich Ballet, Zurich Contemporary Dance, Geneva Ballet and Cullberg Ballet (1996–8). His first professional work L'odeur de l'ombre was choreographed in 1996 and taken into Cullberg's repertory in 1997, after which he created several more works for the company, including Vertigo Maze (2002) and Sore Core (2004). He has since choreographed for several companies including Ballet Gulbenkian, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens (Les Noces, 2002 and The Lost Shoe, 2007), Nederlands Dans Theater 2, Iceland Dance Theatre, also for Bern Ballet where he was artistic director (2004–2007). He has additionally trained as a set designer and created designs for dance (including works by Didy Veldman) as well as theatre and opera.
