Quick Reference

Is said to have succeeded his brother Ceol in 597. The chroniclers remark, vaguely, that he ‘ever fought against the Angles, or against the Welsh, or against the Picts, or against the Scots’. Since he is also reported fighting against the South Saxons in 607, he was clearly busy. His death is given as 611.
