(1759–1834), a prolific editor and biographer, who produced a glossary to Shakespeare in 1797 and an attractive nine-volume edition of Shakespeare in 1805, illustrated by Fuseli. Based on Steevens's text it reprinted prefatory material by Pope, Johnson, and Malone, and included Chalmers's own biography of Shakespeare.
