Channel Definition Format, often known as CDF, is a technology specified by the World Wide Web Consortium which enables content providers, such as news channels like CNN, to continually download content to the desktop of a computer. The subscriber to one of these channels receives content which changes as new events are reported by the content provider. This technology was one of the first large-scale applications of the Extensible Markup Language.
