n.continuous hyperfractionated accelerated radiotherapy: a radiotherapy technique aimed at the rapid destruction of tumour cells when they are actively proliferating – and therefore most sensitive to radiation – by treating them several times a day over a greatly shortened total treatment time. The technique has been shown to be of benefit in the treatment of lung cancer and locally advanced head and neck cancer.
