An inherited condition, presenting in young children. It causes a bilateral swelling of the mandible and maxilla, usually enhanced by upward-gazing eyes, malocclusion, and abnormalities of the teeth. There is replacement of the bone with fibrous tissue containing multinucleate giant cells, resulting in multiple multilocular radiolucencies.
