Quick Reference

A phospholipid transport protein (lipid transfer protein I, 493 aa) that transfers phospholipids between lipoprotein particles. Deficiencies in the protein do not seem to have particularly deleterious effects, although there is hyperalphalipoproteinaemia (an excess of high density lipoprotein) which may actually be antiatherogenic.
