Completed Nocturnal from Varèse's sketches 1972, and has pubd. new and corrected edns. of Amériques 1972 and Octandre 1980. Has held academic posts in several Amer. univs., becoming prof. of mus. at Columbia Univ. 1972. His comps. incl. Landscapes for orch. (1949); And the Fallen Petals, orch.
