Quick Reference

The kinase (conserved helix–loop–helix ubiquitous kinase, IκB kinase 1, IκBKA, EC, 745 aa) that is a component of the IκB-kinase (IKK) core complex which consists of CHUK, IκBKB, and IκBKG. The IKK core complex seems to associate with regulatory or adapter proteins to form a IKK-signalosome which phosphorylates IκB, causing it to dissociate from NFκB. This frees NFκB to move to the nucleus and the phosphorylated IκB is eventually degraded.
