Quick Reference

A multiadaptor protein (Cbl-interacting protein of 85 kDa, SH3 domain-containing kinase-binding protein 1, 665 aa) involved in different cellular functions including the down-regulation of activated receptor tyrosine kinases such as the EGF receptor and the MET/hepatocyte growth factor receptor. It is also involved in the regulation of endocytosis. Cbl (ubiquitin ligase) binds to the activated receptor; further binding of the CIN85 /*endophilin complex leads to clathrin-mediated internalization.
