A model of the central practices which produce culture, devised by Stuart Hall and others in 1997. Defining culture as being about ‘shared meanings’, this circular model presents representation, identity, production, consumption, and regulation as wholly interrelated. Each of these linked ‘moments’ contributes to the production of meaning.
