Quick Reference


1 A document issued by the court on application of a person interested in a deceased person's estate calling upon the party cited to show cause why a particular step should not be taken. This could be a citation to take out probate, to accept or refuse a grant, or to propound a will (i.e. prove that a will is valid).

2 A detailed reference to a legal case, piece of legislation, or legal authority. For advice on citation see the Writing and Citation Guide at the centre of this volume.
