(1811–80). Accomplished architect, he worked in Belgium in a variety of styles. His Galerie Saint-Hubert, Brussels (1837–47), with its glazed barrel-vaulted roof, was a monumental example of a Renaissance Revival shopping arcade. Among other works may be cited the Royal Music Conservatory, Brussels (1872–7), the Theatre and Casino, Homburg, Germany (1851–66), and the Parkmarkt, Congresplein, Brussels (1847).
