A model adopted by sport psychologists to study achievement orientated attributions. According to the model, athletes process information about outcomes (e.g. winning or losing) according to whether they perceive the cause as within themselves (see internal locus of control) or in the environment (see external locus of causality) and whether the cause is perceived as stable or unstable.
