collective worship

Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

It is a statutory duty, under the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, for all maintained schools to provide a daily act of collective worship for all pupils except those who have been withdrawn from this through the wishes of their parent or guardian. This is usually provided through a daily assembly which must be of a broadly Christian character. The exact nature of the provision is agreed between the head teacher and the governing body and set out in a school policy.
