British firm of architects (Alan Harold Colquhoun (1921– ) and John Harmsworth Miller (1930– ) founded in 1961. Among its many works, Forest Gate High School, West Ham (1962), the renovation and extension of the Whitechapel Art Gallery (1979–85), and apartments in Church Street, Hackney (1981), all in London, may be cited. Colquhoun retired in 1989, but the firm has continued as John Miller & Partners, and was responsible for the Queen's Building, University of East Anglia, Norwich (1993), among many other projects.
