A Native American Uto-Aztecan people of the plains and prairies of Texas and Oklahoma. An offshoot of the Shoshone, they migrated to the plains from the Rocky Mountains to hunt buffalo. Their name is derived from the Spanish camino ancho (‘wide trail’).
