Neighbours of Shakespeare in Stratford-upon-Avon. William (1551–1610) sold land to Shakespeare in 1602. His nephew John (c.1560–1614), a usurer, left Shakespeare £5 and had other business dealings with the family, as did his brother, Thomas (d. 1609). Shakespeare left his sword to Thomas's younger son, also called Thomas (1589–1657).
