An agreement among producing countries, or among producing and consuming countries, to regulate the output and price of a particular commodity and/or to provide relevant information, in order to improve the functioning of the global market for this commodity. Producers may agree to limit exports through a quota arrangement, by stockpiling production, or by reducing output or plantings. Such agreements are overseen by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.
