A sentence that may be ordered under the Criminal Justice Act 2003 in respect of an offender aged 16 or over, imposing one or more of a number of specified requirements. These include an unpaid work requirement, an activity requirement, a programme requirement, a prohibited activity requirement, a curfew requirement, an exclusion requirement, a residence requirement, a mental health treatment requirement, a drug rehabilitation requirement, an alcohol treatment requirement, a supervision requirement, and (in the case of an offender aged under 25) an attendance centre requirement. In certain cases the court may additionally impose an electronic monitoring requirement. Community orders replace community rehabilitation orders and community punishment orders.
