Is a group of people who have a common interest or who confront a common problem and who collaborate over an extended period of time to share knowledge, find solutions to difficulties, and generate innovations. Occupations can form communities of practice and the concept has been used to shed light on the informal development and sharing of knowledge within occupational groups. An objective of knowledge management is often to form a community of practice within organizations. A virtual community of practice is one that exists in cyberspace: constructed and reproduced by people using the internet.
