Collaboration by every local authority and corresponding police force, as required by ss 5 and 6 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, with a range of organizations to develop a local strategy to tackle the problems of crime and disorder. The resulting community safety partnership is required to routinely conduct a crime audit to determine the key priorities for immediate and long‐term action and, thereafter, to produce a three year strategy (the community safety plan), stating the partnership's priorities for its local area.
