A chief of the Tuatha Dé Danann who appears in the Fenian Cycle. At his bidding, his three ugly daughters punish Fionn mac Cumhaill and some companions for hunting by using three holly-sticks to entrap them in a cave. Fionn's former enemy Goll mac Morna comes to the rescue by killing two of the sisters and forcing the third to release the Fenians. Later, when the third sister tries to avenge her sisters, Goll kills her too. In gratitude Fionn awards Goll the hand of his daughter. In some versions of the story, Conarán's daughters are named Camóg [Ir., curl], Cúilín [curl at the back of the head], and Iarnach [iron instrument].
