(family Coniophoraceae)

A genus of fungi in which the fruit bodies are resupinate and more or less convoluted. In C. puteana (C. cerebella) the fruit bodies are thin, flattened, irregular in shape, and initially creamy-white, becoming greenish-yellow on maturation. This species is common on wet, decaying wood, and on timbers in damp buildings.
