copycat site

Quick Reference

A Web site which has been designed to look like another site. Such sites are usually developed for criminal purposes: for example, they may mimic a reputable ecommerce site and elicit credit card details from customers which are then used by the criminals responsible for the development of the site. More often than not the whole site is not replicated, just a few copycat pages, with the remaining pages adopting the same style as the copycat pages.
