Show Summary Details

Quick Reference

The claim that on extremely large scales, i.e. much greater scales than those associated with large-scale structure, the universe is homogeneous and isotropic. There is some evidence that the cosmological principle is valid, notably from the cosmic microwave background radiation, but it has not been demonstrated conclusively.
