In theology, an agreement which brings about a relationship of commitment between God and his people. The Jewish faith is based on the biblical covenants made with Abraham, Moses, and David. In Christian theology, the New Covenant is the covenant between God and the followers of Christ, and the Old Covenant is the covenant between God and Israel in the Old Testament.
